I’m a drawing instructor in the Animation Program at Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida, where I’ve been teaching Figure Drawing, Wildlife Illustration, and Visual Development for over 10 years. As a lifelong artist and storyteller, I’m passionate about sketching, drawing, and helping students develop the observational skills and confidence that form the foundation of strong visual communication.
When I’m not teaching, you’ll often find me filling sketchbooks with quick drawings, reading comics, or watching anime. I draw inspiration from a wide range of artistic traditions, from classic animation and graphic storytelling to outstanding international illustration.
I believe that gesture drawing is about more than capturing a pose—it’s about understanding movement, energy, rhythm, and life. In the classroom, I encourage students to embrace experimentation, trust their instincts, enjoy the drawing process, and develop the focus needed to grow as artists.
