Hi! I’m a comic book artist and writer from Naples, Italy. While I was born and raised here, I work mostly for the American market, and my stories are published in over 25 countries around the world.
Beyond my professional work—ranging from original comics to superhero titles—I’ve always had a deep passion for color. In my 15-year career, I’ve not only drawn comics, I’ve also worked extensively as a colorist for some of the top publishers in the world. Also, I have worked with brands like MARVEL, BOOM Studios and DC. That dual path has shaped the way I view coloring: not just as a “step” in the process, but as a vital expressive and narrative tool.
For me, color is not just flat tones—it’s atmosphere, lighting, shadows, emotions. It’s storytelling. Used effectively, it can transform and elevate even the simplest lineart. That’s what I want to share with “students” through this course.
Over the years, I’ve done workshops with students, but this is the first time I get to teach on a larger and more international scale. I truly believe that anyone—whether they want to color their own art or become a professional colorist—can benefit from understanding how powerful color can be.

You'll gain confidence preparing your artwork for the coloring stage and sharpen your understanding of light and shadow through a guided exercise.

How to Use Color – A Start
In this module, you'll take your first steps into the world of color. Learn how to use markers effectively, lay down flat bases, and apply blending techniques that bring your work to life. You'll also explore how complementary colors can create striking visuals. A hands-on exercise will guide you through creating an Itten color wheel and practicing essential coloring techniques on provided lineart.
MODULE 5
How to Color People/Bodies
Bring your characters to life with color! This module focuses on how to color skin, hair, eyes, and clothing in a way that enhances personality and style. You'll also learn how to simplify shadows and highlights for cartoon-style bodies, add special effects, and apply make-up details. The final exercise will have you coloring a full character face using provided lineart.
MODULE 6
How to Color Backgrounds
You'll learn how to create engaging environments that support your characters and storytelling. Topics include coloring simple decorative backgrounds, creating depth through aerial perspective, and tackling both natural and artificial elements. You'll also explore how lighting affects mood and space. A final exercise guides you in coloring a complete background with provided lineart.

Elevate Your Illustration (with/without Background)
You’ll bring everything together to create more impactful illustrations. Learn how backgrounds influence your characters, and how to use light, shadow, and atmosphere to enhance storytelling. You’ll apply your knowledge in a guided exercise that challenges you to color a complete illustration—pushing your skills to a more professional level.
MODULE 8
Aftercare
Finishing an illustration is just the beginning. In this module, you’ll learn how to recognize when your artwork is truly complete, how to properly preserve and present your pieces, and how to scan and edit your work for digital portfolios. These final touches will help you showcase your art professionally and ensure it stands the test of time.
