Hi, I'm Tails!

I am a full-time artist from West Michigan. I started painting in 2017, when I was 13. By my senior year of high school, I had a solo art show at a gallery. At the end of 2022, I attended Michigan State University as a studio art major, but I dropped out after my first semester because I didn’t want to pay for it anymore. I’m now 21, and I’ve been painting professionally in my bedroom for three years.
I call myself self-taught, and for that reason, I tend to explain art concepts in a very intuitive way because I learned them with a brush in my hand instead of a textbook. Painting is what I’m most passionate about; it’s a deep-rooted obsession that hasn’t escaped me. I can’t wait to share everything I’ve learned that brought me to where I am today.

The course is divided into five comprehensive modules featuring over six hours of lessons and hands-on demonstrations, thoughtfully structured to help you progress step by step. The second half of my painting process is done with oils, and I will guide you through the corresponding skill sets. From fat-over-lean principles to the minutiae of finishing details — like optical mixing and how to recognize when your painting is truly finished — I will explain how I remain loose and expressive even through the most fine-tuned part of the process. I will also explain how to find that bit of magic that comes at the end.
