Most people online know me as @darja.draws.
I’m an illustrator and designer based in Austria, obsessed with creating art that feels soft, thoughtful, and full of emotion.
I’ve always been fascinated by how simple shapes and colors can tell complex stories, how a gentle line or muted palette can say more than words. Over time, I developed a style rooted in emotional minimalism: calm compositions, expressive characters, and a quiet kind of storytelling that connects deeply with people.
When I’m not drawing, I work on projects like Cappymind, Oh Sketch (my idea-generation app for artists) and Dariko, my creative shop where I turn illustrations into prints and everyday art.

I will show you how to use intentional design principles to create emotionally resonant and professional character art in an approachable way.
But this course goes beyond just acquiring technical skills. I will show you how to translate feelings into compelling visual content that captures your audience's attention and effectively communicates a mood without words. You will learn to make thoughtful choices about color for mood, subtle motion, and character expression. This is all taught through an app-agnostic workflow, so you can use the software you already love (Procreate, Photoshop, Clip Studio, etc.)
In addition, the course includes practical exercises & drawing prompts in every module to help you practice what you have learned and develop your skills gradually. I will also provide you with all the resources you need, including printable worksheets, emotional palettes, and a private student community, to support you on this journey from refining your style to becoming an expert!
