Hey, I’m Dave !
the artist behind @daveruinsart.
The first thing I wanted to be as a child was an artist. I have always loved drawing, painting and even though art school wasn’t in the cards, I spent my time drawing, painting, making zines and independent comic books. In the evenings, I studied art books and dreamed about some day being a professional artist.
In 2020 I owned a vintage store where I added Star Wars and Lord of the Rings characters to thrifted paintings. When quarantine closed the store, I started putting my art on Reddit, where it went wildly viral, being shared by Newsweek, My Modern Met and even the little TVs at the gas station.
I’ve been a professional artist for five years, making art for collectors and celebrities all around the world. I've have had the most amazing adventure, but I found that I love teaching art and starting people down the path of their own artist adventure!
