Hi, I'm Diana Svensk,
I am a ceramic artist working at the intersection of contemporary craft and alternative firing practices. My work centers on pit, saggar, and wood-based firings using locally sourced and foraged materials, where flame, smoke, and atmosphere act as active collaborators. Moving between porcelain and earthenware, I explore the tension between precision and unpredictability, pairing contemporary surface techniques such as underglaze illustration with historically rooted, outdoor firing methods.
Alongside my studio work, I value collective making and develop community-based projects that engage shared firing, ritual, and knowledge exchange as embodied forms of connection and resistance.
Right now, I am working on a beginner-friendly course that shares my techniques and everything I've learned on my journey. You can join the waiting list to get updates and a special discount when the course opens.Â
