I’m a Scottish artist inspired by Highland myths and legends, as well as the sublime power and beauty of nature. Through vivid colours, dramatic lighting, and expressive techniques, I aim to capture the intensity, majesty, and wild spirit of the Scottish landscape. Working primarily in oils, acrylics, and charcoal, I’m particularly drawn to Scotland’s ever-changing skies, turbulent waters, and breathtaking scenery.

I gained my BA (Hons) and Master of Fine Art from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in 2008, where I studied the work of 19th-century Romantic artists who portrayed iconic Scottish landscapes such as Glencoe and Loch Katrine. Their influence continues to shape my work, alongside my fascination with Scottish folklore.

My paintings often exaggerate rock formations and feature piercing rays of light breaking through dramatic clouds, contrasting with the tranquillity of distant springs and lochs. I rarely include people or human-made structures, preferring to explore the awe-inspiring power of nature and the spirit of the sublime.

In 2013, I gained a PGDE in Art and Design and became an Art and Design teacher in the east of Scotland. My recent work focuses on the vibrant colours, dramatic weather, and wild beauty of the Scottish landscape.
