Why do your faces look "off"? Â
Master the Art of the Ballpoint Pen Â
Every artist knows the feeling...
You finish a portrait, step back, and realize something is... off. Maybe the eyes are a fraction too high. Maybe the shading on the nose looks more like a smudge than a shadow. You try to fix it, but with a ballpoint pen, there’s no "undo" button.
My upcoming course, Fix Your Faces: Ballpoint Portraits That Actually Look Right, is a comprehensive roadmap designed to turn your "off" proportions into hyper-realistic results using a ballpoint pen.
I will show you how to understand the anatomy and technique so you can draw any face from any reference with total confidence.

Hi, I'm Michael Riley!
Born in the soulful, textured streets of New Orleans and raised under the creative pulse of Atlanta, my hands were busy with a pen long before my memory could even keep up.
What started as a childhood obsession with the "art class" hour quickly evolved into a lifelong search for precision. While other artists reached for expensive charcoals or oils, I found my true voice in the most unlikely place: a simple ballpoint pen.
I don’t believe you need a studio full of expensive supplies or "natural talent" to create world-class art. I believe you just need a 50-cent pen and a system that actually works.
For me, every portrait is an exploration of depth and every stroke is a deliberate choice. I’ve spent my life proving that greatness isn’t found in the tools you buy, but in the patience you possess and the system you follow.
I'm here to show you how to find that same precision in your own work, one ink-line at a time.
