Hi, I'm Mindy!
I’m a printmaker based in Rockford, Illinois, where I share a creative studio with my daughter, GG.
My journey as an artist actually started by chance. While studying the Philosophy of Art in graduate school, I was searching for a way to bring my love for graphic design, pattern-making, and textiles into a single, handmade practice. That’s when I fell in love with the slow, thoughtful, and beautifully tactile process of traditional hand block printing.
Today, twenty years after first carving a piece of linoleum, I design custom fabrics, clothing, and home decor. I'm incredibly proud to be a member of the Speedball Network of Professional Artists, an Ambassador for Flexcut Tools, and to have had my work featured in Midwest Living Magazine and The Crafter’s Box.

Course Content
The course has 7 modules for 6 hours of learning and practicing. It also includes 48 full-length lessons! You can pause and replay the videos as much as you want. The course is suitable for teens and adults because there is no explicit content (just remember to carve safely!). It would be best to take the course in order, because it will start from the basics to lessons at a more advanced level.

Modules 1 & 2
Building Strong Foundations & Master Your Materials
We’ll start by getting acquainted and diving straight into the essentials of printmaking. I’ll guide you through your core tools as we compare lino, wood, and soft rubber substrates, and break down how different ink types and brayers work together for perfect prints.
Modules 3 & 4
Workspace & Repeat Patterns
Together, we’ll set up your workstation with the proper padded printing surfaces before moving into the heart of pattern design. We’ll cover how to sketch specifically for block printing, simplify your illustrations, and master the basic geometry and symmetry you need to create seamless repeat layouts.
Modules 5 & 6
Safe Carving & Hand Printing
Next, we’ll safely pick up our carving tools. I’ll show you how to master linework, manage depth, and handle blocks like Speedy Carve. Then, we’ll transition to printing where we’ll master ink application, mix custom colors, and confidently transfer your designs onto both fabric and canvas.
Bonus Module 7
Studio Care & Graduation
In our final module, we’ll cover studio maintenance to keep your tools in top shape, including tutorials on tool honing, brayer care, and washing your custom prints. We’ll wrap up our journey by celebrating your Certificate of Completion and welcoming you into our private student community!
