Linocut Printmaking
Course For Beginners
Master beautiful linocut printmaking through 6-7 hours of content and 8 comprehensive modules, guided step by step from your first cut to your first print.
“Printmakers are born,
not made.”
That's a myth.
Maybe you think the people who carve beautiful prints were simply born able to.
Maybe you imagine they pick up a gouge and it just works, first time, every time.
Maybe you've already decided, quietly, that you're not the artistic one.
Carving is a skill, not magic. What you admire in other people's prints is practice, patience, and noticing the shapes that were always there.
You don't need to be a natural. You need a block, three tools, and somebody sitting beside you for the first one.
Hi! I'm HANNAH
I'm a linocut artist working from a garden studio in Kent. My journey began in a childhood full of art and nature, with a father who took me round galleries and a mother who filled our days with plants and gardens, and it grew through a Fine Art degree in Aberystwyth and a Masters in Printmaking in London, where carving and printing by hand became the thing I couldn't put down.
Everything I make comes from a love of pattern, a fascination with nature, and a wish to hold onto places and memories, old and new.

Overcoming the blank block
You sit down with a block and start cutting, without the wince.
You stop comparing your lines to anyone else's, because yours are the point.
You peel back the paper and there it is: the print, in your hands, made by you.
I'll be with you the whole way. Tools, technique, and the gentle mindset that keeps you cutting.
What you'll unlock
through the course
Cut confidently
You'll hold the tools safely, understand cutting direction, and build a vocabulary of marks you can actually control.
See in black and white
Positive and negative space stop being theory. You'll translate a drawing into a print-ready design without guessing.
Print two colours
By module six you'll cut a block into jigsaw pieces, ink them separately, and register both colours by hand.
COURSE CONTENT
This course is divided into 8 modules with 6 to 7 hours of instruction, designed to build your confidence in linocut printmaking. You will gain lifetime access to video lessons you can pause, revisit, and study at your own pace.
This course is designed for beginners who want a solid foundation in linocut printmaking. Each module builds on the last, starting with materials and mark making, then moving into design, transfer, and your first prints, including a two colour jigsaw linocut.
With every lesson, your confidence will grow. By the end, you will have the skills to create your own linocut prints, and an approach you can apply to every future piece.
