The course is designed for English speakers. Because English and Javanese are very different languages, I explain things in English for most of the course so that you can understand the main concepts more easily, and the transition to Javanese is smoother and easier to understand, especially when learning the complex politeness levels (Krama, Madya, Ngoko).
No previous knowledge of the language is required.
The beginner's course is designed for those who are starting from scratch, which is why it begins with absolute basics like the Javanese alphabet and simple greetings. However, the course is also perfect for advanced beginners, as we gradually progress to more complex topics like verb conjugation, sentence structure, and proper use of honorifics in different social situations.
