I'm a ceramic artist and the creator behind Jerri's Calaveritas, a small business based in Dallas, Texas. After studying Studio Art and exploring different mediums, I fell in love with ceramics during a handbuilding course in the pandemic. My work is inspired by my Mexican heritage, childhood nostalgia, folk art, and traditions passed down through generations. Over the past three years, I've grown my business, collaborated with brands like Paleta Payaso and El Rancho Supermercado, hosted workshops, and learned from talented artists and master artisans in Mexico.
I'm passionate about celebrating Mexican culture through colorful, playful ceramics while exploring the history and traditions behind the art that inspires me. When I'm not in the studio, I enjoy spending time with my pets, collecting Latin American folk and pre-Hispanic art, and traveling to discover new crafts and traditions. I'm excited to share my love for ceramics with you, so we can get creative, have fun, and learn something new together. Grab some clay, get your hands dirty, and let's create something special!
