JOIN THE WAITING LIST!

My Course will be launching soon!

Want to bring a little more wonder to your everyday ceramics? Join me to create a whimsical ceramic mug that turns a familiar object into something full of personality. We’ll explore playful details, miniature worlds, and a touch of lighting to bring a little extra magic to your work.

We’ll work step by step, from your first idea to shaping your mug and adding the details that make it yours. Drawing on my background in sculpture and ceramics, I’ll share how I use humor, nostalgia, and storytelling to create functional pieces that spark a smile. Clay is at the heart of this course, with light adding another way to bring your ideas to life.

No rigid rules, no pressure to be perfect, just a relaxed space to experiment, build your ceramics skills, and enjoy the process. You’ll create a mug that brings a little joy to your daily rituals and discover ideas you can keep exploring in your own ceramic practice.

Sign up for the WAITING LIST, be the first one to get informed once the course opens and you will secure yourself an EXCLUSIVE WAITING LIST DISCOUNT.

Hi! My name is Kate Schroeder,

and I am a ceramic artist and jeweler based in Kansas City, Missouri. I hold both a BFA and MFA in Sculpture and Ceramics, and specialize in creating what I call functional sculptures. My work explores joy, humor, and nostalgia. I create pieces designed to interrupt the everyday.. to spark a smile, start a conversation, or simply offer a small moment of lightness in an otherwise complicated world. I use miniatures, illustration, and light as tools to bring these ideas to life.
In addition to being an artist, I am also a small business owner and educator. I make my living creating and selling my work and have been fully self-employed as an artist for nearly nine years. Over that time, I have shipped my work to more than 1,000 collections around the globe, reaching all seven continents!
Before becoming fully self-employed, I began my career in academia and went on to manage a community-focused ceramics studio. Education and mentorship have remained an important part of my practice, and I have since taught workshops both in person and online, working with audiences across the country. Most recently, I traveled to Budapest, Hungary, as a cultural delegate and liaison through the U.S. Department of State and U.S. Embassy.
