Sculpt, Attach & Glaze Lifelike Insects on Functional Pottery.

Hi, I'm Haley, and I'm so happy you're here.

I've always been fascinated by the tiny details most people walk right past. Whether it's a beetle, caterpillar, moth, or mushroom growing along a trail, I love studying the natural world and finding ways to bring that sense of wonder into functional pottery.

In this course, I'll walk you through my complete process for transforming a real insect reference into a lifelike ceramic sculpture, securely attaching it to a functional vessel, and bringing it to life with underglaze, glaze, and firing techniques.

Together, we'll build a beautiful bug mug from start to finish while learning how to simplify anatomy, create lightweight sculptures that won't crack or detach, and develop realistic colors and textures that make every piece feel alive.

Whether you want to recreate your favorite species or use my method to design your own nature-inspired pottery, this course will give you the skills and confidence to create work that's both functional and uniquely yours.

The course will be opening soon, and the waitlist is now open.

Meet the potter!

Hello, I'm Erin, the maker behind erinswindow.

For me, ceramics are much more than beautiful objects, they're a way of telling stories. Every piece I create begins with a quiet moment, a memory, a walk in nature, or a feeling I want to hold onto. Through clay, I explore those moments using hand-built forms, painted imagery, symbols, texture, and small details that invite people to slow down and discover their own stories within each piece. My practice is inspired by the beauty of everyday life, and by the idea that the things we make can become little worlds filled with meaning.

In my upcoming course, Clay Stories: Hand-Building Meaningful Ceramic Pieces, I'll guide you through my complete creative process, from finding inspiration and developing your own personal symbols to hand-building, decorating, and finishing a ceramic piece that feels uniquely yours.

Whether your story comes from a cherished memory, a favourite place, nature, or simply your imagination, this course will help you transform those ideas into a handmade piece you'll treasure for years to come.

I can't wait to welcome you into my little world of clay and help you create one of your own.
