Hi, I’m Josh, aka LobsterSquirrel.
I am a self‑taught artist and storyteller working from (somewhere between sketchbook, animation desk and storyboard panel). Art runs in my family, and that foundation - combined with my own years of practice and experimentation - shaped the path I follow today.
Years ago I tried my hand at storyboarding (around 2015), first as a side passion - then gradually it took over. I’ve since moved into full‑time work in animation, storyboarding, and rough animation. Along the way I even published a book. Outside of my own projects, I’ve contributed to work on major titles such as Avengers, How to Train Your Dragon and Guardians of the Galaxy.
What drives me is variety - I love the challenge of switching styles, of simplifying complex forms so they’re easier to draw, of breaking anatomy and motion down into digestible steps. My art is about dynamic poses, exaggerated anatomy and clarity of expression.
I’m drawn to storytelling above all - whether through a single illustration, a rough animation or a sequence of boards.
