Hey, I'm Luis!

I’m a New York City-based painter, draftsman, and printmaker with over two decades of experience. I trained at the Hartford Art School and continued my studies at the Art Students League and Teaching Studios of Art in Brooklyn, developing a strong foundation in drawing, landscape, color, and observation.

My landscape practice has taken me from plein air painting in Tuscany, France, and New England to working from memory and imagination in my New York studio. Drawing has always been central to my work, with pen and ink becoming an important medium for exploring atmosphere, light, and landscape. I’ve exhibited my work extensively and shared my approach through workshops and online courses.
