HI, I'M JOHN,
I’ve worked as a Visual Development artist on ten Disney films, including Treasure Planet, Atlantis, and Emperor’s New Groove!
I’ve taught at Lucasfilm in both San Francisco and Singapore, and I've shared my passion for storytelling and design with my students at USC and CalArts.
Over the years, I’ve developed a unique and powerful teaching method designed to unlock your
creativity. Currently, I’m producing a Science Fiction Feature while continuing to share my creative philosophy.

We will look together at the materials, basic techniques, and knowledge needed to begin this journey. Approaching a new technique means first learning how best to use the tools at your disposal.
Practical exercises
Theory is important, but what makes you a true artist is practice... Lots of practice! You'll find lots of exercises to get started with and from which to get inspiration. I will show you some tricks that will make your make up truly unique.
