I'm the creator behind @learnmalaywithadlan. I’m a Malay language teacher based in Kuala Lumpur, passionate about making the Malay language accessible and engaging for English speakers around the world.
With a background in psychology and a deep appreciation for language and culture, I created this platform to help learners connect with Malaysia through its rich and expressive language.

COURSE CONTENT
The course is designed for English speakers. Since English and Malay have different structures and sounds, I will explain everything in clear English so that you can easily grasp the main concepts and transition smoothly into Malay.
No previous knowledge of Malay is required!
This beginner’s course is designed for absolute beginners who are starting from scratch. At the same time, it is also ideal for advanced beginners who already know a few words or phrases, since the lessons gradually build in difficulty and give you a strong foundation step by step.
IN MY COURSE YOU WILL LEARN:
Basic Expressions and Pronunciation
You will learn Malay greetings, polite expressions, and the correct way to pronounce vowels and consonants so that you can be easily understood. We will also cover how to introduce yourself and start conversations with confidence.
Everyday Communication
I will teach you the skills you need for daily life: asking and answering simple questions, talking about family, food, and travel, ordering food and drinks, asking for prices, and making small talk in Malay.
Numbers, Time, and Daily Activities
You will gain the ability to count, talk about time, days, and schedules, and describe common routines. These skills will make it much easier to navigate life in Malaysia.
Useful Phrases in Real-life Context
You will learn useful phrases for real-life contexts such as asking for directions, sightseeing, shopping, and making requests. These expressions will allow you to move around comfortably and interact with locals in common scenarios.
Vocabulary Expansion and
Cultural Insights
