Hi, I'm Matt
I’m a self-taught artist from Minneapolis, and my journey into art began as a way to stay alive. After years of battling addiction, my therapist suggested I try painting to help resist cravings. What started as survival soon became a way of living.
My work is raw and expressive, filled with bold brushstrokes, fingerprints, and fearless color. Each mark carries my story the struggle, the recovery, and the rediscovery of joy in sobriety. I paint not to perfect, but to be present, believing that true art is about essence over accuracy.
Today, I share this process with others, teaching how to paint with honesty, energy, and heart. My hope is that through art, you’ll find what I did: freedom, healing, and the reminder that what matters most isn’t getting it right — it’s getting it alive.
