Hello! I am Melissa Santos
I am a self taught artist with a focus on realism and oil paint. My journey began in Rochester, New York where I was born and raised. One day, when I was only 4 years old, I sat at my kitchen table and drew a t-shirt. I was so amazed that what I drew actually looked "real". That moment ignited a lifelong passion for art, and fueled my love for realism.
As I got older I really just loved the idea that I could draw or paint & make anything look real. Art & realism became my voice, a means of clear expression in a world where I felt a sort of fear to speak my mind.
Now fully committed to my art, I am balancing my passion with a full-time career in fashion design. I envision myself partaking in collaborations that bridge the gap between fine art and high fashion that allow me to further explore the subject matter I love to work with while sending a positive message to the world.

The course is divided in 7 modules for a total of 8+ hours of learning and practicing. You can pause and replay the videos as much as you want. The course is suitable for everyone, teens, adults and children. I recommend to take the course in order, because it will start from the basics to lessons at a more advanced level.

In all my videos, I try to use as many visual elements as possible, such as pictures and references, so you can take some inspiration and you can practice. You can follow each step as I show it to you, and you can comment and compare with other students under each video or in the group so you can resolve any doubts you have and learn new tricks!
The course is designed to be as practical as possible, even teaching you the basics of color and how to use the tools. You can review the lessons as many times as you want, where you want, and when you want!
