I’m excited to share that my upcoming course “From Egg to Elegant: Watercolor for Beginners Who Dream Bigger” is launching soon.

In this course, we’ll start with the essentials of watercolor, understanding your materials, basic brush techniques, and how to create simple, playful forms (yes, even eggs!). From there, we’ll move into building confidence with color, layering washes, and adding depth, light, and detail. By the end, you’ll know how to take a simple shape and transform it into an elegant, expressive watercolor painting.

Through step-by-step lessons, guided exercises, and creative challenges, this course is designed for beginners who want to explore watercolor in a fun, approachable way - while also dreaming bigger about where their art can go.

What you will unlock...

Hi, I’m Nicholas!

I’m Nicholas Holman, a full-time artist who creates work that’s often described as colorful, whimsical, surreal, and a little magical. My paintings blend elements of nature, dreamlike imagery, and bold color to capture feelings we don’t always have words for.

I love working across many mediums: gouache, watercolor, acrylic, oil, and illustration because experimenting keeps my creativity fresh and evolving. I’m especially known for playful projects like my “eggs on things” series and collections that explore unique color palettes, such as my all-pink works.

For me, art is about more than just the final piece - it’s about connection and storytelling. Whether it’s through sharing my process on social media, painting live, or exhibiting at shows and markets, I love creating moments where people can connect with art in an authentic and accessible way. Some of my favorite experiences have been meeting people who chose one of my pieces as their very first original artwork.

Looking ahead, I’m excited to create a course that goes beyond teaching technique. I want to share not only how I use paint and illustration, but also how I approach creativity, color, and imagination, encouraging others to explore their own voice and embrace a sense of play in their art.
