Hey! I’m Florian,
I am an oil painter who brings nature to life through imagination and creativity. My fascination with light, color, and texture guides every canvas I work on, and the palette knife is my favorite tool to translate that energy into bold, expressive landscapes. Each stroke feels alive, layering depth and movement to capture the beauty of the natural world in a way that brushes can’t.
This course was born from my desire to share not only my finished paintings, but also the process behind them. Over time, many people have asked me how I approach composition, how I use colors, and how I create textures with the palette knife. I wanted to create a structured, step-by-step method that makes these techniques accessible to everyone, so that you can experience the same joy and freedom of creating your own expressive landscapes.
Painting, for me, is not about perfection, it’s about exploring, experimenting, and embracing the unexpected. Through this course, I hope to guide you in finding your own rhythm, your own way of seeing nature, and your own expressive style. Introduction & Materials
Get to know me, the course structure, and what to expect on this journey. We’ll also cover all the essential tools you’ll need—drawing materials, palette knives, brushes, paints, mediums, and other useful supplies—so you feel confident and ready to start painting from the very first lesson.
Module 3 &Â 4
Drawing and Composition
Learn the fundamentals of nature drawing and create strong, appealing shapes. Practice the Sandwich Method to confidently draw trees, rocks, mountains, paths, grass, and clouds.
Build balanced and flowing compositions step by step, with guided exercises and clear demonstrations. As a bonus, get a simple introduction to perspective to add depth to your landscapes.
Module 5 &Â 6
Sketching & Painting Theory
Learn how to choose your subject, create multiple thumbnail sketches, and develop a final sketch that provides a solid foundation for your painting. Then, dive into painting theory: explore color, light, and shadow in nature, balance warm and cool tones, create harmonious palettes, and use values to strengthen your compositions.
Module 7 & 8
Palette Knife Techniques & Final Project
Learn palette knife techniques for trees, foliage, skies, and grassy grounds with clear demonstrations and practical exercises. Then, complete a full painting from start to finish—preparing the canvas, transferring your sketch, mixing colors, executing the painting, and finishing with varnish. You’ll finish with a complete landscape and the confidence to keep creating on your own.
