Hi, I'm Katie!

I’m an artist based in New York City. Although I’ve been painting with watercolors since childhood, I rediscovered my passion for the medium in 2014, when I began urban sketching around the city while working professionally in scenic painting and prop-making for theater. In 2019, I made the leap to becoming a full-time watercolor artist. Since then, I’ve taught urban sketching workshops and authored The Urban Sketching Handbook: Understanding Light. When I’m not painting, you’ll find me playing shuffleboard or trying to keep my houseplants alive!
