Course Content
The course has 8Â modules for 8+Â hours of learning and practicing. It also includes 60+ artwork video tutorials! You can pause and replay the videos as much as you want. It would be best to take the course in order, because it will start from the basics to lessons at a more advanced level.Â

IN MY COURSE YOU WILL LEARN
1. FUNDAMENTALS OF VISUAL LANGUAGE
Understanding how to see and think like an artist is key to translating ideas into compelling visuals. In the first module, we’ll break down contrast, value, edges, and composition, the building blocks of strong artwork. Through hands-on exercises and artist analysis, you’ll train your eye to identify relationships in shapes, light, and color. By observing, sketching, and experimenting with different techniques, you’ll develop a deeper understanding of visual hierarchy—a crucial skill for creating impactful and intentional illustrations.
2. COLOR CRASH COURSE
Color is a powerful tool for storytelling and mood. Module 2 covers the fundamentals of color theory, including hue, value, saturation, chroma, and temperature, helping you make intentional choices in your artwork. Through lighting studies and practical exercises, you’ll learn how light interacts with different materials and how to use contrast effectively in color. By analyzing master artists and experimenting with limited palettes and grayscale lighting, you’ll develop a stronger sense of color harmony and depth in your illustrations.
3. USEFUL ART FUNDAMENTALS
Master the core principles of form, gesture, and perspective to create dynamic and believable artwork. Learn to break down complex subjects into simple 3D shapes, understand line of action, and use perspective grids to place objects in space. Through silhouette and shape language exercises, you’ll explore contrast and design, while quick studies from references will help sharpen your ability to simplify and capture essential details efficiently.
4. EXPRESSING YOUR IDEAS VISUALLY
Learn to collect, connect, and translate ideas into compelling visuals. Develop storytelling skills by focusing on intention, focal points, and eye movement in your compositions. Through journaling, sketching exercises, and visual exploration, you’ll turn personal experiences into creative concepts. Discover how to use art fundamentals to strengthen your storytelling and bring depth to your work.
5. TOOLS & TECHNIQUES: PROCREATE ESSENTIALS
Master the essential tools in Procreate to enhance your creative process. Explore the interface, adjustment layers, and layer modes to control lighting, color, and value. Experiment with tools like sharpen, noise, and smudge to refine your visuals, while learning advanced techniques such as photobashing and using the automatic selection tool for detailed contrast. Through demos and practical exercises, you’ll develop the skills to create dynamic, visually engaging artwork.
6. DEMOS & PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS
In this module, you will engage in a follow-along live demo where you’ll set clear goals for a landscape painting. We’ll walk through the key steps of the creative process, from ideation & mood to research & reference collection, and sketching your initial composition. Learn to apply the greyscale method to refine your hierarchy, then progress to rendering and adding final touches. Each step will help you develop a structured approach to creating compelling, professional artwork.
7. DEMOS & PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS 2
This module focuses on character illustration through a follow-along live demo. We’ll begin with ideation & moodand move through research & reference collection to shape your character’s essence. Then, we’ll create the initial sketch and dive into color application (working down the hierarchy). From there, you’ll refine your illustration with rendering and add final touches to bring your character to life with depth and personality.
8. FINDING YOUR VOICE THROUGH THE VISUAL LANGUAGE
In the final module, we’ll focus on how to study effectively and problem-solve like an artist. You’ll learn to experiment and develop your personal style by pushing creative boundaries. We’ll also cover how to overcome blocks, burnout, and fear, and explore mixed media and other programs to expand your skills. Lastly, we’ll discuss building a well-rounded portfolio to showcase your growth. At the end, you can download your certificate and share your feedback.
