The Art of Drawing Buildings
Ever looked at a building you love and wished you could draw it properly?
The Art of Drawing Buildings is my online course that teaches you how to turn your favourite buildings into detailed pen-and-ink drawings, with nothing more than a pencil, a ruler and a fine liner. I’ve been working on it for a while, and I can’t wait to finally share it with you.

What You Will Learn
No architecture degree, studio or previous experience needed. You’ll learn how to read a building, set it out accurately on paper and build up the detail line by line, until you have a finished drawing you’re proud to frame.
Choose the Right Tools
Which pencils, fine liners, rulers and paper to use, and what you can skip.
Read a Building
How to break a façade into simple shapes, find its symmetry and spot the proportions that make it recognisable.
Set Out Your Drawing
Working from a reference photo with light pencil guidelines, so the structure is right before any ink goes down.
Ink Clean, Confident Lines
Ruled lines, line weights and moving from pencil to pen without smudges or wobbles.
Add Texture and Detail
Brickwork, roof tiles, windows and ornament: the patient techniques that bring a drawing to life.
Learn at Your Own Pace
Lifetime access to all lessons, plus an early-bird discount for waitlist members.
Hi, I’m Stephen!
I’m the artist behind StevoSketches. I create detailed technical drawings of favourite buildings, from London landmarks and Tube stations to stately homes and castles.
Every drawing is made by hand at my desk with a pencil, a ruler and fine liner pens, building up each brick and window one line at a time.
This course is everything I wish I had known when I started: how to choose a building, get its proportions right, ink it cleanly and add the detail that makes it yours.
