Meet the potters!

Hello everyone! My name is Asa and I’m one half of The King and the Flower, the pottery studio I run together with my wife and fellow potter, Daisy.

Clay has been a huge part of both of our lives. For me, pottery became a place to work through life, build something with my hands, and develop a carving style rooted in texture, rhythm, and movement. For Daisy, clay has always been a space for curiosity, exploration, and making pieces that feel personal and full of character.

Together, we’ve built The King and the Flower as a place where pottery, teaching, family, and creativity all meet.

In our upcoming course, From Clay to Carved: Decorative Pottery for Makers, I’ll be walking you through my complete carved pottery process, while Daisy and I guide you through the bigger journey of creating a finished piece; from forming the vessel and preparing the surface to carving, glazing, and sharing your final pot.

We can’t wait to welcome you inside and help you bring your own carved piece to life.
