I’m Toni Lee, also known as tough bunny — a queer Filipina-American illustrator and the creator of the webcomic FIO. My work centers on human connection, love, and identity, told through colorful storytelling and expressive, character-driven art.
This beginner-friendly course introduces you to making your very first comic, from early ideas and rough sketches to finished pages. We’ll explore story, characters, world-building, and visual storytelling, helping you build confidence, experiment freely, and learn how to think like a comic artist — no perfection required.

Course Content
The course has 6 modules for 9+ hours of learning and practice. It also includes guided exercises and hands-on projects to help you build your first comic step by step. You can pause and replay the videos as much as you want. The course is suitable for beginners of all ages, including teens and adults, with no explicit content. It’s best taken in order, as we move from core fundamentals to more complete, finished comic pages.

Each lesson is highly visual and example-driven, using scripts, thumbnails, comic pages, references, and walkthroughs from my own work. You’ll be able to follow along step by step, try the exercises yourself, and learn by doing. You can also comment, compare progress with other students, and ask questions along the way.
The course is designed to be practical and beginner-friendly, covering everything from idea generation and story structure to characters, worlds, paneling, and pacing. You can revisit the lessons anytime, anywhere, and as often as you need.
