My course is for everybody who wants to create that visual story they’ve been itching to tell but doesn’t know where to start. Whether that’s writing a comic, illustrating an AU for your favorite piece of media, or simply piecing together a coherent plot for your characters, I will guide you through simple lesson plans to build worlds, flesh out characters, and bring a story to life that you and your audience will enjoy.

I will guide you through a step by step process on how to take a concept in your head to a page. We will work through the behind the scenes scriptwriting involved in bringing character interactions to life, as well as use Procreate to guide you through simple and approachable drawing basics for illustrating your story.

This course is especially for anybody who has felt daunted by the pressure of producing a perfectly polished finished product. I will show you how to harness your creativity with the simple goal of telling your story, ensuring you gain the confidence to take that first step and build a solid foundation to let your narrative grow.

My name is Haley,

also known as Yujatea and pi. I am a self-taught artist, a critically acclaimed writer, and a soon to be medical student from Los Angeles. 

All my life, I’ve found comfort and joy in storytelling. While pursuing my studies, I made time to develop my skills both as a writer and an artist with the goal of creating character-driven emotional narratives. 

Over the years, I’ve found my voice as a creator and have published my work both professionally and casually in a variety of mediums. I have spent the past eight years documenting my artistic progress on my social media and have amassed a community of people who enjoy my indulgent storytelling projects, including fandom concepts and short comics. 

I’m very passionate about encouraging people to make their own art and arm themselves with the tools to share their unique voice. Although I do not work in the industry nor do I consider myself a professional, I am confident in the time and effort it took to bring me to the skill level I have now as well as my ability to write and illustrate projects I can be proud of. I have found a process that works well for me through years of practice, and now can bring the lessons I’ve learned to people who are ready to tell their own stories.
